Empowering Volunteers Through Advocacy Training
In a significant step towards advancing girl-child education in Nafada Local Government Area (LGA), the Adda Girl Education Foundation recently organized a two-day training event for 90 Community Volunteers (CVs). Representing all 10 wards of the LGA, these volunteers gathered at the Community Hall of the College of Education and Legal Studies in Nafada for a comprehensive training session focused on Advocacy, Information, Education, and Communication (IEC), as well as Social & Behavior Change Communication (SBCC).
Government & Stakeholder Support
The event drew notable attention, with representatives from the Gombe State Ministry of Education, the State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB), and the Local Education Authority (LEA) in attendance. These officials underscored the importance of the training, urging participants to fully engage with the sessions and apply their newfound skills to champion the cause of girl-child education in their communities.
Equipping Volunteers with Practical Skills
The training aimed to equip the volunteers with the tools and knowledge necessary to advocate more effectively for improved educational access and opportunities for girls in Nafada LGA. It included both theoretical and practical components, ensuring that participants could immediately begin implementing what they had learned.
